Description

Description

This is a bronze statuette of the god Osiris, depicted in the classic mummiform stance: arms crossed over the chest, holding the crook and flail — traditional symbols of kingship and divine authority in ancient Egypt. The detailing of the regalia appears consistent with traditional Osirian iconography.

He wears the Atef crown, a tall white crown flanked by ostrich feathers, symbolizing rulership over Upper Egypt and the afterlife. The crown is finely sculpted with a distinct frontal uraeus (cobra), emphasizing Osiris’s divine status. The face is carefully rendered, showing symmetry and stylized expression common in Late Period statuary.

The body is mostly undifferentiated from the waist down, blending into a pillar-like form with slight definition around the feet — a stylistic choice typical of the period to signify Osiris in a wrapped, eternal state.

Height: 23 cm / 9.06 inches
